Instead of doing a post with the All-Time Best players in Sabres history, I’m doing a bit of a twist.
Here are some of the All-Time Worst Sabres players (IMHO)
Cody Hodgson – Is there a more perfect punching bag in recent history than Hodgson? I think not. Remember how hyped everyone was when the trade went down? The constant comparisons between Kassian and Hodgson, Canucks fans saying they got the better of the deal, Sabres fans saying they did. Yeah, that worked out well for both teams. Oh, the Habs just waived Kassian too.
Ville Leino – OK, Leino is right up there with Cody in punching bag material. Ah, the summer of 2011, the hopeful expectations of making the playoffs. Leino was offered 6yrs – $27 Million (Thanks Darcy) to be the new top line center. But wait, he never said he could play center. Buyout.
Slaza Kozlov – Thanks Darcy. Sabres end up with this POS in a trade for the best goalie to ever play the game. He deserved to be sent to the hockey hotbed that is Atlanta.
Never Played a Game:
Marek Zagrapan – Worst 1st round pick. Ever. (Thanks Darcy)
Big Guy That Didn’t Hit:
No, not Myers, Mike Wilson – 6’6″ and the guy absolutely refused to play the body. Mediocre player. The best thing he did for the team was probably being traded for Rhett Warrener.
Rory Fitzpatrick – Fitzpatrick was actually a likable dude until he didn’t look down for the damn puck during the Carolina series. Now he’s infamous.
Patrick Lalime – Won 9 of 47 games for the Sabres. Brutal
I’m sure there are a bunch more….
